Bayrou: 2027 Runoff Between Far Right and Hard Left Would Be 'Lethal Danger' for France

Former French Prime Minister François Bayrou warned on Europe 1 radio that France would face a "lethal danger" if the 2027 presidential election came down to a runoff between the far-right National Rally (RN) and the hard-left France Unbowed (LFI). He described the prospect as the worst pincer movement, saying both parties would plunge the country into an untenable situation and that the European Union would collapse if either were elected.
