Inceba Trust Feeds Excellence at South African ECD Centres

Since rebranding from Valcare in 2016, the trust has supported about 230 ECD centres, mainly across the Western Cape, with a few in the Northern Cape and the Free State, CEO Nielen Bekker told Daily Maverick. The trust's projects focus on safe learning environments, teacher training, and strengthening caregiver-child bonds. Since 2023, the trust has conducted biannual nutritional status assessments, measuring children's height and weight. If any child is at risk of stunting or obesity, the entire centre receives breakfast porridge support.
