Üstel Details Response to August 30 Maritime Accident Off Girne Coast

Within the first minutes of the incident, 21 ambulances and 63 personnel were dispatched to the port under the coordination of the Ministry of Health, while 25 doctors and 30 nurses began initial interventions at the scene. State, university, military, and private hospitals were simultaneously put on alert. Of the 267 passengers on board, 239 people were rescued and all were taken to hospitals for examinations and health checks.
Of those, 132 were admitted for further examination and treatment, and 4 casualties were placed in intensive care. Üstel noted that 139 physicians and approximately 200 nurses and health workers served throughout the process, with triage, first aid, referral, and treatment carried out in a coordinated manner.
