Berlin Police Detain 2 at Pro-palestinian Protest

Police in Berlin intervened in a pro-Palestinian demonstration on Saturday, detaining at least two people. The protest, held in the German capital, was organized to condemn Israel's attacks on Gaza. A large number of Palestine supporters gathered at Ernst Reuter Square before marching toward the city center.

Demonstrators carried Palestinian flags and signs reading "No alliance with genocide, "Injustice is never equal to peace, "Stop the genocide, "Gaza is the world's largest orphanage and largest children's graveyard, and "No one can say today they knew nothing. The crowd chanted slogans including "Zionists are fascists, they kill children and women, "Children are dying, Germany is behind it, "Child killer Israel, and Israel is burning children, Germany is watching. When protesters reached the vicinity of Uhlandstrasse metro station, police responded forcefully and took at least two people into custody. Despite the tension, the march continued and concluded at Wittenberg Square.
