Fire in Balıkesir Industrial Zone Damages 5 Workplaces

A fire that broke out in a polyester workshop in the Edremit district of Balıkesir, Turkey, spread to neighboring businesses due to strong winds, leaving five workplaces unusable. The blaze started for reasons yet to be determined at a workshop in the organized industrial zone in the Yolören neighborhood. Flames quickly grew and, fueled by the wind, jumped to four adjacent workplaces.

Upon notification, numerous firefighting and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Eight vehicles and 16 personnel from the Edremit Fire Group Directorate of the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality responded to the fire. After intense efforts by firefighting crews, the fire was brought under control.

In total, five workplaces were rendered unusable as a result of the incident. No injuries or casualties were reported.
