Turkey to Unveil 3-Year Economic Roadmap Today

The program is expected to set new targets for inflation, growth, employment, budget balance, and structural reforms. The OVP determines the course to be followed in critical areas such as financial and price stability, growth, and employment. It also includes appropriation proposal ceilings for public administrations. The program is prepared jointly by the Presidency's Strategy and Budget Directorate and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, and is published in the Official Gazette after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's signature.

The previous OVP, covering 2026-2028, targeted economic growth of 3.8% in 2026, 4.3% in 2027, and 5% in 2028. Inflation was projected at 16% for this year, 9% for 2027, and 8% for 2028. The budget deficit-to-GDP ratio was calculated at 3.5% in 2026 and 2.8% by the end of the program period. Unemployment targets were set at 8.4% for 2026, 8.2% for 2027, and 7.8% for 2028. Exports were targeted at $282 billion by the end of this year, $294 billion in 2027, and $308.5 billion by the program's end, while imports were projected at $378 billion in 2026, $393 billion next year, and $410.5 billion in 2028. The new program is expected to highlight inflation, growth policies, and structural reforms.
