🇦🇺 AustraliaSA Water Constraints Stall 300-Plus Home Development in Kadina
A proposed housing development of more than 300 homes in Kadina on the Yorke Peninsula has been stalled because SA Water cannot confirm sufficient network capacity, according to the state's housing minister.
The future of more than 300 homes in the fast-growing South Australian town of Kadina is uncertain after SA Water told developers it cannot confirm whether there is sufficient capacity in its network to connect the subdivision. The government agency is carrying out a technical analysis to measure future demand. Housing Minister Nick Champion described the state's water system as severely constrained and at capacity, and said additional funding for infrastructure would be considered in the 2028-32 funding cycle. The proposed 28-hectare greenfield development site, excluding dirt mounds, is located on the Yorke Peninsula.
