Real Madrid Sign Yan Diomande in Record 135 Million Euro Deal
Real Madrid made the most expensive signing in its history official on Thursday, announcing the acquisition of Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande from Leipzig for 125 million euros fixed plus 10 million in variables, potentially reaching 135 million.
The 19-year-old, already in Madrid, signed a contract until 2033 and will join the squad under coach José Mourinho, who travels to Hungary on Friday for a friendly against Ferencváros on Saturday. Diomande, who scored 12 goals and provided nine assists for Leipzig last season, becomes Madrid's sixth signing of the window, following Marc Cucurella (55 million from Chelsea), Carlos Espí (25 million from Levante), Denzel Dumphries (20 million from Inter Milan), and free arrivals Ibrahima Konaté and Bernardo Silva. His market value had risen to 90 million euros. At the World Cup, he was Ivory Coast's standout player with 24 dribbles, an assist, and MVP honors against Ecuador, as his team topped its group before losing to Norway in the round of 32. Previously, he played 10 matches for Leganés in 2024/25, scoring two goals, after Leipzig paid 20 million for him.
