Five Suspects, Including the Brother of Slain Animal Rights Activist Gülay Akgün Mutlu, Were Arrested in Connection With Her Shooting Death

Mutlu, 41, president of the Altın Patiler Türkiye Street Animals Protection and Rescue Association, was found shot dead on July 29 in the İmrahor area. Her brother, identified as K.A., was captured in Keskin, Kırıkkale, after his hideout was located. A.A., S.D., F.B., and C.Y.—were also detained for allegedly aiding him.

K.A. was arrested on charges of premeditated murder, while the other four face charges of destroying evidence and harboring a criminal. All were remanded to prison following a court hearing.
