Suno Is Working With Audible Magic and Musixmatch to Screen Uploaded Audio and Lyrics for Misuse

Suno is adding audio watermarks to AI-generated songs and setting new download limits to prevent mass distribution and combat fraud, the company announced. Co-founder and CEO Mikey Shulman said in a blog post that the platform's "transparency tools" will include labeling to show when a song was generated on Suno if it appears elsewhere. Shulman said Suno will adopt "new audio watermarking and fingerprinting technology" to resist AI fraud, similar in principle to Google's SynthID, though details are vague.
He added that artists and platforms should decide whether to disclose AI involvement. The move follows legal battles and industry pressure, including a German court ruling this week that Suno trained on protected music without rights, a decision Suno may appeal. Suno is working with Audible Magic and Musixmatch to screen uploaded audio and lyrics for misuse.
