AI Music Startup, Announced Plans to Implement New Watermarking Technology and a Revised Download Policy to Curb the Spread of Spammy AI

In a blog post, CEO and co-founder Mikey Shulman outlined the company's principles and next steps as it seeks legitimacy. The company is rolling out transparency tools alongside watermarking and fingerprinting tech, which Shulman says aligns with "emerging industry standards" to make Suno-generated content easier to identify. He also stated the company aims to partner with "distribution platforms on combatting fraud and misuse.
Shulman's post emphasized dedication to transparency, respect for rights holders, and the importance of human-made art, while noting it's not Suno's place to "pass judgment on individual pieces of art, leaving disclosure decisions to artists and platforms. Suno did not immediately respond to requests for specifics on the new policies.
