London's 2029 World Athletics Championships Bid Gains Momentum

London has launched a bid to host WorldPride in 2032, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the city's first Pride march in 1972. The announcement was made Thursday at a reception during WorldPride Amsterdam at the British Council, with Pride in London co-leading the bid alongside Outernet and UK Black Pride. WorldPride, held every other year, takes place in Amsterdam this year and Cape Town in 2028. The bid includes a design competition for a logo and a global photography campaign inviting LGBTQ+ community members to submit photos celebrating identity, allyship, and belonging. Entries close on 25 September, with the winner announced in early October and a £3,000 prize.
