Romania's National Commission for Museums and Collections Has Approved the Restoration of the Coțofenești

The 4th-century BC golden artifact, stolen from the Drents Museum in the Netherlands in January 2025, was recovered in April along with two of three Dacian gold bracelets. Restoration follows analyses including microscopy, X-ray fluorescence, and metallographic testing, conducted with IFIN-HH researchers and Dutch heritage experts. In June, a Dutch court sentenced three men to 47 months each for the theft.
