Cambridge's Youngest Black Professor Resigns Amid New Qualifications Probe

Jason Arday, the youngest Black professor in Cambridge University's history, resigned on Wednesday from his sociology post and Jesus College fellowship amid a new investigation into his qualifications. The university said it received "new information" about Arday's credentials, prompting a separate probe from an existing academic misconduct review. Arday, who denied wrongdoing and cited a 2015 Liverpool John Moores University finding that cleared him of plagiarism, said months of "relentless accusations" had become unsustainable. The resignation also casts doubt on his memoir, Great and Unfortunate Things, due from Simon & Schuster this month.
