Gold Exposure Through MF Schemes Will Not Exceed 5% of Net Asset Value

SBI Mutual Fund, the country's largest fund house, will launch its second strategy under the Specialised Investment Fund framework, the Magnum Equity Ex-Top 100 Long Short Fund. The new fund offer opens for subscription on August 7. The open-ended strategy aims to generate long-term capital appreciation by investing in stocks outside the top 100 by market capitalisation, with limited short exposure through derivatives to enhance returns and manage risk. It will primarily invest in equity and equity-related instruments, REITs, debt and money market instruments, InvITs, and gold and silver ETFs.
Gold exposure through MF schemes will not exceed 5% of net asset value. Minimum purchase for new investors is ₹10 lakh, and ₹1,00,000 for existing investors. The benchmark is BSE 500 TRI.
The fund will be managed by Gaurav Mehta, CFA, Head of SIF Equity. Debasish Mishra, MD & CEO, said the fund broadens the product suite to support diverse investor expectations. Our effort remains centred on delivering thoughtful, well-structured strategies that create long-term value while aligning with the changing dynamics of the investment landscape.
