Kisli, Who Graduated From Erciyes University in 1992 and Began His Residency in 1993, Said He Earned All His Titles Through Determination

SIVAS, Turkey — Prof. Dr. Erol Kisli, a general surgeon at Sivas Cumhuriyet University who uses a wheelchair after a traffic accident, has become the first such surgeon documented in world medical history. His life story was published under the title "Physical Limits" in Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, the official journal of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, after a special invitation. Kisli, who graduated from Erciyes University in 1992 and began his residency in 1993, said he earned all his titles through determination.

He continued anorectal surgeries, trained assistants, and produced scientific publications. The university's rectorate congratulated him, noting the achievement contributes to Turkey's scientific reputation.
