Suspect Allegedly Stabbed Friend, Staged Crash As Accident

Adana's Karaisalı district prosecutor's office has filed charges against Mehmet K., 33, seeking aggravated life imprisonment for killing his friend Ahmet Tuncöz, 43, with a knife and staging it as a traffic accident.
The indictment, accepted by Adana 10th Heavy Penal Court, says the two friends drove to Hacıkırı Mahallesi on May 3, where an argument broke out. The suspect allegedly stabbed Tuncöz, causing his internal organs to protrude, then crashed the car into rocks to fake an accident. Evidence shows Mehmet K. called his wife at 20:43 to report a crash but waited until 21:44 to call 112, a one-hour gap, and never mentioned injuring anyone.
The car was found with the handbrake on and in first gear. The suspect claims he acted in self-defense after being hit, lost control, and did not stage the scene. His trial will begin soon.
