The U.s. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Said a Salmonella Outbreak Believed to Be Linked to Jalapeno Peppers Has Spread to 27

The CDC said 36 people have been hospitalized, with no deaths reported. The peppers were er restaurants. Minnesota and Colorado each reported 110 cases, followed by Illinois with 30 and Kansas with 13. Other affected states include Alabama, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Chipotle said it removed jalapenos from its menus as a precaution, and Qdoba said it proactively removed them from all its restaurants.
