Schlein: 'Energy and Climate Are the Same Battle' — Pd Leader Unveils Five Proposals

Elly Schlein, leader of Italy's Democratic Party (Pd), has outlined five proposals to tackle the climate crisis, arguing that "energy and climate are the same battle. In a letter, she said the ideas aim "to change course and truly protect Italian families and businesses. Schlein wrote that the country is in the midst of a climate crisis already deeply affecting lives, health, and the planet. She pointed to the hottest summer on record, with families trapped indoors by heat, hospitals under pressure, workers' safety weakened, fields scorched by drought, and enormous damage from extreme weather events, including images of devastation in Nepal.
