🇹🇷 TürkiyeTürkiye Sets Teacher Dress Code for 2026-27 School Year

Turkey's Ministry of National Education has sent a circular to schools in all 81 provinces outlining rules for the 2026-2027 academic year, with the most debated section covering what teachers may and may not wear.
The circular, signed by Education Minister Tekin, states that teachers should not wear clothing deemed unsuitable for the school environment, including leggings, mini skirts, T-shirts, and jeans. Following discussions about teacher attire in primary, middle, and high schools, the ministry also completed its work on a standard uniform apron. Teachers are being encouraged to wear the apron to remind students of the 'seriousness of the profession' and 'authority.
The circular says all teachers should be encouraged to prefer wearing the apron for professional representation and to serve as role models for students. The move standardizes the apron that teachers will wear.
