🇹🇷 TürkiyeTurkey to Hold Kite Events for Children Affected by War in Gaza

The events will focus on children's rights to play, safety, and education, as well as solidarity, and will encourage parental participation. In a letter signed by Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and sent to governorships and provincial education directorates in all 81 provinces, attention was drawn to provisions on protecting children from violence and abuse, ensuring their safety, and guaranteeing their right to education. The letter stated that under the Türkiye Century Education Model, students are expected to grow up as individuals who embrace values such as love, respect, compassion, solidarity, brotherhood, and justice, and who are sensitive to humanity, alongside their academic development.
The events will be held under the themes "Children Must Play, "Children Must Grow Up in Safety, "Education Is Every Child's Right, and "No Child Should Be Left Behind. Activities will include kite designs, painting, and exhibitions addressing peace, security, solidarity, and the right to education. Kites will be treated as a common symbol of Gazan children's play, freedom, and hopes.
Students will express messages of peace, trust, brotherhood, and solidarity through artistic works. Participation of students with their parents in events to be held in provincial centers under the coordination of governorships will also be encouraged. The activities will be carried out in a manner appropriate to students' age and developmental characteristics, supporting educational processes and considering the best interests of the child. Details on event days and locations will be announced on provincial education directorates' websites and social media accounts.
