Tetris Company Disavows White House's 'Build the Wall' Clone Game

The Tetris Company said it was not involved in the creation of 'Build the Wall, one of six arcade-style games released by the White House on Thursday, and is reviewing the matter for potential copyright infringement. The game tasks players with stacking falling bricks into a growing wall, similar to Tetris, but completed lines do not clear from the board. Instead, the wall grows larger to keep out an oncoming 'zombie horde, with the wall positioned near an ill-defined 'Southern Border, making its anti-immigration theme explicit.

In a post on the Tetris Instagram account, the company wrote: 'At Tetris we believe in the power of connection and bringing people together. To our fans everywhere: we love you, we see you, and we're grateful to have you in our community. The company also noted it 'takes copyright infringement very seriously.

When asked for comment, The Tetris Company reiterated that it 'did not authorize or license the Tetris brand or intellectual property' for the game. 'For more than 40 years, Tetris has brought people together across generations and cultures through play and joy.
