New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh is looking to deploy running back Cam Skattebo early and often in 2026. Cam Skattebo suffered a devastating leg injury during Week 8 of his rookie season with the New York Giants, ending his debut campaign.
During a recent interview with USA Today Sports, Skattebo said head coach John Harbaugh is planning to deploy him with "20-plus carries" per game. I had a couple talks with him letting him know, hey, I'm gonna be ready to go. And he trusted me, and he trusted the fact that I'm ready to go.
He got a little snippet of it in our first preseason game, and he's gonna get a big snippet on Sunday Night Football, Skattebo said. So I'm excited to show him what I have, and we talk a lot, but when he walks up to me and tells me, 'Are you ready for 20-plus carries a game? I think I'm in a pretty good spot. Before his season-ending injury in 2025, Skattebo separated himself as the Giants' clear No. 1 running back — rushing for 410 yards and five touchdowns, while reeling in 24 catches for 207 yards and two more scores.
