Drug Test of Detained Ankara Deputy Mayor Comes Back Positive

In Ankara, the drug test of Mutlu Kerimoğlu, the detained deputy mayor of Etimesgut Municipality, came back positive, according to judicial sources. Samples of blood, urine, and hair were taken from Kerimoğlu following reports against him. The test result was revealed amid a corruption investigation led by the Ankara Batı Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
In the probe, 55 suspects were detained on charges including forming and managing a criminal organization, membership in an organization, embezzlement, bribery, extortion, and bid rigging. Among them, 44 suspects, including Etimesgut Mayor Beşikçioğlu, were arrested.
