Jos Buttler Becomes Men's T20 Cricket's All-time Leading Run-scorer

Jos Buttler became the highest run-scorer in men's T20 cricket history, surpassing Kieron Pollard's mark of 14,803 runs with a 51 off 20 balls for Manchester Super Giants against Fire at Old Trafford. The 35-year-old England white-ball great now has 14,833 runs in 522 matches, including 1,192 runs in The Hundred. Buttler's record-breaking shot, a six over square leg onto the hotel balcony, came during the emphatic win.

His career began in 2009 with Somerset in Hyderabad, and he made his England debut in 2011. Former team-mate Dawid Malan praised Buttler's evolution, noting his power and adaptability. Buttler has averaged fewer than 30 in only one of the past 12 calendar years and has scored all nine of his T20 centuries since 2021. His powerplay average is 43, and he strikes at 184 in the death overs. Buttler's philosophy, according to Malan, is to hit the ball on the off side, especially at the death.
