In a news release, Tattersfield called the shutdown a painful day for everyone who built, worked for, and loved the brand, praising the workforce and loyal customers. The company said the bankruptcy filing led to the decision to wind down operations and close every remaining store.

The original founders, who left the company in 2021 and now operate Angie's, called the news bittersweet and heartbreaking, reflecting on launching Salad and Go 13 years ago to make healthy, affordable food widely accessible. They said they created Angie's to continue that vision, offering USDA Prime steak, antibiotic-free chicken, organic salads, seed oil-free dressings, wild-caught seafood, and premium pizza. The founders ended by thanking supporters and encouraging customers to back Angie's, noting the mission was never just about salads but about making great food affordable for everyone.
