Cleveland Browns receiver Jerry Jeudy on Wednesday dismissed a false social media narrative that he weighed in on the team's quarterback competition between Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson. "I've been in the league maybe seven years, and at least five or six of those years, there's always been a quarterback competition within those years. I think I'm mature enough and wise enough to not answer questions like that.

For everyone to believe that I would answer something like that on social media is kinda wild, Jeudy told reporters, per Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot. The controversy stems from a July 26 TikTok video that appeared to show Jeudy holding up four fingers when asked which QB he preferred, implying Watson, the No. 4. Jeudy previously called out the clip on X, writing, "Lmao yall just be lying so much for what ?? and "I don't speak on decisions that aren't mine to make.

Watson is returning from a torn right Achilles tendon suffered in October 2024 and reinjured in January 2025, while Sanders started eight games last season after rookie Dillon Gabriel was sidelined.

Sanders told Browns legend Bernie Kosar there are no "petty quarterback squabbles behind the scenes. Cleveland opens its preseason Aug. 15 on the road against the Chicago Bears.
