New Mexico Sues DOJ Over Epstein Ranch Probe Stonewalling

Attorney General Raúl Torrez filed the lawsuit in the US District Court for the District of Columbia after the DoJ appeared to ignore a July 31 deadline to share information about alleged abuse of girls and young women at Epstein's Zorro ranch, about 30 miles south of Santa Fe. The complaint alleges Blanche and the department obstructed the investigation, which Torrez reopened in February after the 10,000-acre property was mentioned thousands of times in recent Epstein files releases. Torrez seeks a court order directing the DoJ to comply with the Epstein transparency law and Touhy regulations, plus costs and further relief.

The DoJ's US attorney's office for New Mexico said it "substantively responded" on June 30 with 31 documents, but Torrez called them mostly old clippings and heavily redacted pages. He noted federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York told him last month they "will not cooperate" with the state probe.
