Jonas Brothers Reach Stadium-filling Peak Two Decades After Debut

Twenty years after their debut album, the Jonas Brothers are at their stadium-filling peak, defying expectations that the Disney-signed trio would fade. Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas broke through in 2008 with the US No 5 hit Burnin’ Up, followed by three consecutive US No 1 albums and a Rolling Stone cover as the youngest group to achieve that feat. A six-year hiatus due to creative differences ended with a 2019 comeback and their first US No 1 single, Sucker.
By last year, they sold out MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where the World Cup final was later hosted. Collaborators credit their longevity to evolution and craft. Michael Mangini, co-producer of their debut, recalled a 2005 meeting with Columbia Records president Steve Greenberg that turned the brothers into a group, despite their initial dislike of the name.
Nick was 12, Joe 15 and Kevin 17 at the time. Nate Sloan of the Switched on Pop podcast praised their commitment to songwriting, noting collaborations with daring voices like Jon Bellion on 2023’s The Album. Their music has matured from adolescent rock tunes to themes of fatherhood, reflecting their growth as artists.
