Workers at Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos Voted Tuesday Night to Extend
The São Paulo city government again suspended vehicle rotation restrictions. Line 11-Coral operates between Barra Funda-Palmeiras and Guaianases stations, with the Guaianases-to-Estudantes stretch served by the Paese bus system. Line 12-Safira runs between Brás and Engenheiro Goulart, with Paese buses covering the Engenheiro Goulart-to-Calmon Viana segment.
Line 13-Jade runs with longer intervals between stations and Guarulhos Airport, also aided by Paese buses. Metro Lines 1-Azul, 2-Verde, 3-Vermelha, and 15-Prata have extra trains and opened earlier at 4 a.m. A conciliation hearing is set for Wednesday at noon between the union, the São Paulo state government, and CPTM to decide the strike's future. Workers demand formal job guarantees for those who worked on Lines 11, 12, and 13, which were granted to Trivia Trens in July. The state government says about 1,300 of 4,648 employees have not yet been reassigned after privatization, with commitments to maintain all ties, but unionists question the lack of safeguards.
