Ministry: 190,473 Students Placed in Central Exam Schools in First Round

The ministry's report, released after placement results, showed that of 1,259,614 total slots in schools accepting students via central exam or local placement, 963,322 were filled. The overall occupancy rate rose to 76.48% from 74.32% last year, leaving 296,292 slots vacant. Among 198,905 central exam slots, 190,473 were filled.
Local placement schools had 772,849 students placed into 1,060,709 slots, a 72.86% fill rate. In the top 5% of exam scorers, 43,850 students were placed: 12,009 to their first choice, 10,774 to second, 7,850 to third, 5,311 to fourth, and 7,906 to fifth or higher. Of these, 52.16% entered science high schools, 40.55% Anatolian high schools, 5.98% Anatolian imam hatip high schools, 1.27% vocational and technical Anatolian high schools, and 0.05% social sciences high schools.
Across all centrally placed students, 56,961 got their first choice, 46,224 second, 32,859 third, 21,102 fourth, 13,961 fifth, 8,819 sixth, 5,155 seventh, 3,020 eighth, 1,547 ninth, and 825 tenth. By school type, 60,780 chose Anatolian, 41,480 Anatolian imam hatip, 40,303 vocational and technical Anatolian, 38,700 science, and 9,210 social sciences high schools.
