Russian Strikes Damage Kyiv House, Mayor Warns of Trapped People

Russian strikes early Wednesday damaged a private house in Kyiv, with Mayor Vitali Klitschko warning that people could be trapped under the rubble. Warehouse buildings caught fire in two districts, and air defence units were active. The assault follows at least 27 deaths in separate attacks in Ukraine and Russia earlier this week.
Ukraine has pressed allies for more Patriot interceptors, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy saying their shortage encourages Russian strikes. UN monitors have flagged rising civilian casualties, the highest since the February 2022 invasion. The danger remains high, Klitschko said.
