The appeal was made at a two-day South-West Zonal workshop organized for members of the association in Lagos, themed A Shift from Confrontation to Collaboration. Speaking at the opening session, the National President of the ASCSN, Shehu Mohammed, said the workshop, which cuts across Nigeria's six geo-political zones, aligns with the administration's agenda on impactful capacity building for union members at both federal and state levels.
On the concession of unity schools, Mohammed said the process must be conducted without negatively impacting the overall welfare of members across the country. Other participants commended the leadership of the union, describing the meeting as a rallying point in labour relations history. The South-West Zonal Director of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mienye Badejo, emphasized the need for government, labour, and employers to work together, noting that challenges of work, productivity, welfare, and decent jobs cannot be solved by one party alone.
