SUV, the Peaq, Has Set a Range Record in the Seven-seat Electric SUV Category by Covering 936 Kilometers on a Single Charge

The standard production vehicle, driven by two Skoda employees from the Peaq development team, completed the journey from Mlada Boleslav in Czechia to the Dutch coast via Germany without any intermediate charging. The Peaq surpassed its official WLTP range of 647 kilometers by 289 kilometers, approximately 45 percent, reaching 936 kilometers thanks to efficient driving techniques and careful route planning. The rear-wheel-drive Peaq used a 91 kWh battery, a 210 kW electric motor, 19-inch wheels, and standard production tires with low rolling resistance.

Before the record attempt, the vehicle's charging port cover was sealed, and the 936-kilometer journey was monitored and verified by TÜV SÜD. The result was also officially recorded in the Czech Book of Records. During the demanding journey exceeding 900 kilometers, the Peaq recorded an average energy consumption of only 9.2 kWh per 100 kilometers.

The vehicle's aerodynamic design, with a drag coefficient of just 0.249 Cd, contributed to this high efficiency. The drivers noted that maintaining a constant speed and smooth driving were key to achieving this remarkable range, avoiding hard accelerations, sudden braking, and stop-and-go traffic as much as possible. Regenerative braking settings were also kept at an optimal level to avoid unnecessarily slowing the driving speed. Dry weather conditions throughout the journey also positively affected consumption.
