Antalya's Share of Turkey's Ornamental Plant Exports Hits 41.6%

Antalya accounted for 41.6% of Turkey's ornamental plant and product exports in the first eight months of the year, according to data released by the Antalya Commodity Exchange (ATB). The city's total exports rose 12.3% year-on-year in the same period. In August, Turkey's total exports increased 8.8% year-on-year, while Antalya's exports fell 1.3%.

Fresh fruit and vegetable exports rose 40.4% nationwide and 10.6% in Antalya, while ornamental plant and product exports declined 12% in Turkey and 17.7% in Antalya. Agricultural and food exports grew 4.3% nationwide but fell 4.4% in Antalya. Industrial exports rose 9.1% in Turkey but dropped 16% in Antalya, while mining exports increased 24.4% nationwide and 21.7% in Antalya.

Mining exports increased 19.5% in Turkey and 16.9% in Antalya. Total exports rose 4.7% nationwide and 12.3% in Antalya. Month-on-month in August, fresh fruit and vegetable exports fell 15.9% in Turkey but rose 3.2% in Antalya.

Total exports declined 8.5% in Turkey and 23.6% in Antalya. In August, fresh fruit and vegetables accounted for 59.8% of Antalya's agricultural and food exports and 8.8% of Turkey's. Ornamental plants and products made up 3.6% of Antalya's and 0.3% of Turkey's agricultural and food exports. Compared with the same month last year, agriculture's share of Antalya's total exports fell 2 points to 51%, industry's share fell 5 points to 27%, and mining's share rose 4 points to 18%.

Nationwide, agriculture's share of total exports fell 0.6 points to 14%, industry's rose 0.2 points to 82.8%, and mining's rose 0.4 points to 3.2%. In the first eight months, agriculture's share of Antalya's total exports held steady at 59%, industry's fell 2 points to 26%, and mining's rose 1 point to 13%. Nationwide, agriculture's share fell 0.1 points to 14.9%, industry's fell 0.2 points to 82.2%, and mining's rose 0.3 points to 2.9%.

Antalya accounted for 19.4% of Turkey's August fresh fruit and vegetable exports and 18.8% in the first eight months. The city's share of ornamental plant and product exports was 35.3% in August and 41.6% in the first eight months. Antalya made up 2.9% of Turkey's agricultural and food exports in August and 3.7% in the first eight months.

Its share of Turkey's total exports was 0.8% in August and 1% in the first eight months. Antalya's share of industrial exports was 0.3% in both periods, and its share of mining exports was 4.3% in August and 4.1% in the first eight months.
