UK Sport Withdraws Funding From GB Snowsport After Governance Review.

UK Sport has withdrawn all funding from GB Snowsport for the next Olympic cycle after commissioning an independent review into the organisation's governance. The decision comes six months after Team GB's most successful Winter Olympics at Milano-Cortina and alongside record funding for British winter sport ahead of Alpes 2030. UK Sport has guaranteed £12.5m for ski and snowboard athletes and their Paralympic equivalents over the next four years, the largest share of a £33m winter sports pool, ahead of £10.1m for bobsleigh and skeleton. A new funding mechanism outside GB Snowsport is yet to be confirmed, with an announcement expected before year's end.

GB Snowsport, which has changed chair twice in three years with Michael Osterlin currently interim, said it was "disappointed" and noted it had already completed an independent governance review funded by UK Sport that confirmed standards remain strong. UK Sport also confirmed creation of Sport Org, a specialist multisport performance delivery organisation, which will take over elite programmes in certain sports; the British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association will transfer its programmes before Utah 2034.
