The Authority Said the Practice Blocked Rivals From Entering the Dual-active-ingredient Nasal Spray Segment and Caused Public Losses

Turkey's competition watchdog fined Avixa İlaç Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ about 24 million lira after a settlement for abusing its dominant position in the nasal spray market through exclusionary and exploitative practices. The Competition Authority said its probe found that of two identical-formula sprays distributed by Avixa and its affiliate Avigem, the product with a higher discount to the Social Security Institution was kept below a 1% market share, restricting consumer access to the cheaper option. The authority said the practice blocked rivals from entering the dual-active-ingredient nasal spray segment and caused public losses.
Under the settlement, Avixa also committed to having its product's license suspended and revoked and removed from state reimbursement coverage, closing the investigation. İçeriği ve formülü aynı iki ilaçtan, Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumuna daha yüksek iskonto uygulanan ürünün pazar payının yüzde 1'in altında tutulduğu belirlendi. Bu yöntem, tüketicilerin uygun fiyatlı ürüne erişimini kısıtladı.
