East Uttar Pradesh Sees Heavy Rain for Four Days, West Rajasthan for Three From Monday, and East Rajasthan for Four From Sunday

Heavy to very heavy rainfall, with isolated extremely heavy spells, will continue to batter flood-hit Assam and Meghalaya for the next two days, while sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim brace for intense showers on Tuesday. The monsoon trough has shifted entirely over land, funneling moisture into East and North-East India, and depleting the reservoir that caused recent heavy rains in Central and West India. The India Meteorological Department forecasts widespread rain with thunderstorms and lightning over Arunachal Pradesh for one day, Assam and Meghalaya for three days, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura for six days.

A fresh western disturbance over central Pakistan and cyclonic circulations over several regions will bring isolated heavy rain to Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh and West Uttar Pradesh for three days, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for six, and Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Punjab on Tuesday. East Uttar Pradesh sees heavy rain for four days, West Rajasthan for three from Monday, and East Rajasthan for four from Sunday. The North-East bears the brunt, with isolated very heavy rain over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on Tuesday, and heavy rain continuing over Assam and Meghalaya for six days.

Central India gets isolated heavy rain over East and West Madhya Pradesh for three days from Sunday, and Chhattisgarh for six from Tuesday. The west coast expects widespread rain over Konkan and Goa for six days, with scattered showers over Madhya Maharashtra, east Gujarat, Marathwada, and Saurashtra and Kutch. The 12 hours to Tuesday morning saw heavy to very heavy rain over Coastal Karnataka, and heavy rain over Punjab, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Odisha, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
