Pre-selected Applicants for the Second-semester Student Financing Fund Have Until 11:59
Students must log in to the Fies Seleção website using their Gov.br portal credentials. The pre-selection list is available on the Unified Higher Education Access Portal. Fies aims to expand access to higher education by financing students at private institutions participating in the program.
This year, 75,500 spots were offered across 1,300 private institutions, covering 28,800 courses and shifts. The selection process drew 315,431 applications from 127,175 candidates, with each applicant able to choose up to three course options. Women made up 67.5% of applicants (about 85,900), while men accounted for 32.5% (41,300).
Half of the spots are reserved for students with per-person family income up to half the minimum wage and active CadÚnico registration. Those qualifying for Fies Social can finance up to 100% of educational costs. Both Fies and Fies Social reserve spots for Black, mixed-race, Indigenous, quilombola, and disabled applicants, proportional to state demographics per IBGE census.
Unselected candidates are automatically placed on a waiting list, with pre-selection running from August 7 to September 24. Fies holds two regular selection processes annually, plus processes for remaining spots. For inquiries, contact MEC at 0800-616161.
