Under the Pact, Start-ups Meeting Investment Criteria Can Tap the Alternative Investment Fund (AIF), Backed by Anicut's Recently Launched

Under the pact, start-ups meeting investment criteria can tap the Alternative Investment Fund (AIF), backed by Anicut's recently launched Grand Anicut Seed Fund (GASF), which has a target corpus of ₹175 crore. "This structure enables investments to be reflected as a single investor on the start-up's cap table, simplifying equity management and enhancing efficiency for future fundraising and governance, Anicut said in a release. Ajay Anand, Partner at Anicut, noted Tamil Nadu's manufacturing legacy is now joined by a wave of product-led and SaaS-first companies, segments where Anicut has deep conviction.
"Through this partnership, founders gain not just access to capital, but the combined strategic value that Anicut and The Chennai Angels bring to the table, he said. Mahalingam K, Head of the Executive Committee at The Chennai Angels, said the group has always believed backing founders goes beyond capital, and the partnership creates a more structured and seamless investment pathway for funding start-ups.
