Rudeineh Noted Israel Killed 19 Palestinians in Gaza on the Previous Day and Warned That Ongoing Strikes in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank

He urged the international community and the U.N. Security Council to compel Israel to immediately implement the second phase, halt attacks on Gaza and the West Bank including East Jerusalem, and provide urgent international protection for Palestinians. Abu Rudeineh said Israel's impunity encourages violations of international and humanitarian law, and stressed that security and stability can only be achieved by ending the occupation and stopping the aggression. He reiterated that a lasting, just peace requires establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
