The company added an "App Updates" section within the app's settings after ending its previous TestFlight-based beta process. Users can now choose between daily updates, which provide immediate access to the latest bug fixes and in-development features but may occasionally include minor stability issues, and a "Stable weekly release" option that bundles fixes and improvements from the week into a more reliable package, typically delivered near the weekend.

The new panel also displays the current version and includes a "Check for updates" button for manual checks. Users can switch channels at any time without reinstalling the app. The feature is currently available to select beta users, with a broader rollout to all beta testers planned in the coming weeks. WhatsApp aims to offer a more controlled ecosystem for Mac users through its own servers following the TestFlight discontinuation.
