In the latest episode of HBO's 'House of the Dragon, dragon-on-dragon violence takes a backseat to political intrigue and betrayal at Harrenhal. The episode opens with the aftermath of the Butcher's Ball, as the tapestry now depicts Criston Cole's corpse, arrow through his face, surrounded by the dead. A black dragon on a red field hints at future Targaryen conflicts, but its meaning remains cryptic.

At Harrenhal, Aemond Targaryen, recovering from his injuries, practices swordplay shirtless. Alicent arrives, claiming to have escaped the Red Keep, but it's revealed that this is Alys Rivers in disguise, playing on Aemond's Oedipal desires.
