Police Identified the Accused As Sumit, 34, From Bulandshahr, and Happy Sharma, Who Was Found in an SUV Outside

Two people were detained after a man threw a slipper at Independent MP Pappu Yadav during a press conference at his Delhi residence on Sunday, sparking a scuffle with the lawmaker's supporters. The incident occurred as Yadav defended his controversial Parliament skit alleging theft of donations at the Ram temple, which has drawn backlash from BJP and Hindu groups. Police identified the accused as Sumit, 34, from Bulandshahr, and Happy Sharma, who was found in an SUV outside.
A knife allegedly recovered from Sumit was handed over to police. Yadav, who represents Purnia in Bihar, said he would not be intimidated by the "attempt on his life, adding, "Those who want to kill me can do so; I will not be scared. The protest has led to an FIR in Varanasi against Yadav, Rahul Gandhi, and Awadhesh Prasad for hurting religious sentiments, while BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj filed a complaint in Delhi. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera criticized Delhi Police over the attack.
