The Shooter Was Identified As 24-Year-old Chad Williams

A gunman who killed three people and wounded seven others at an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said Sunday. The shooter was identified as 24-year-old Chad Williams. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said investigators are working to establish a motive, with the suspect's relatives cooperating.

"Their hearts are also broken, Hicks said. Authorities believe the suspect acted alone. The attack occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. local time, with social media video showing bystanders fleeing a retail parking lot as gunshots rang out.

An off-duty officer and a bystander exchanged fire with Williams, and Hicks said their actions "drove the suspect from the scene, preventing further casualties. Two of the injured were treated and released from St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center, while two remain in critical condition and three are stable, though Hicks called the figures preliminary. In-N-Out president Lynsi Snyder confirmed that a female employee was among the dead, saying in a statement, "My heart is broken... We lost one of our beautiful Associates tonight.

The FBI is assisting local authorities and has asked the public to submit photos and videos. The restaurant had opened just a week earlier, on July 24, as part of the chain's expansion into Idaho."
