Stephen King's beloved novel Desperation is getting the big-screen treatment, with Searchlight Pictures — Disney's adult-oriented film label — moving forward on the adaptation. The project will be directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, the duo behind last year's Final Destination Bloodlines, while Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, Evil Dead) is set to produce. The novel, translated into Turkish as Yaratık, follows a family and a famous writer who find themselves trapped in the eerie Nevada town of Desperation, where a malevolent force grips the community.
