South Africa's Electoral Commission Will Add a New Code of Conduct to Combat Disinformation Ahead of the November 4 Local Government
ZayNewsFast. Clear. Brief.

The code, which will take effect once the election date is officially proclaimed, aims to protect the integrity of the electoral process. The IEC also confirmed that the voters' roll will close at midnight on the day of proclamation, with no new registrations or changes accepted after that deadline. This weekend marked the final voter registration weekend before the elections. Mamabolo said the commission will publish an election timetable setting cutoff dates for various functions, including the publication of voting station lists, provisional voters' roll inspection, special vote applications, and candidate list submissions.
