Lee Reeves Is in a "Critical But Stable" Condition in Hospital After Being Stretchered Out of the Ring in Dublin on Saturday

Irish boxer Lee Reeves is in a "critical but stable" condition in hospital after being stretchered out of the ring in Dublin on Saturday. The 31-year-old Limerick fighter was knocked out in the 10th round of his bout against Gary Cully for the vacant BUI Celtic super-lightweight title at the 3Arena. In an update released on Sunday, a spokesperson for Queensberry Promotions said Reeves remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

"We will know more in the coming days, and our thoughts and prayers remain with Lee and his family, the spokesperson said. Speaking after the fight, Cully said his "prayers and thoughts" were with Reeves. "He came in there as a big underdog after fighting relatively at a lower level up until now, but he really showed that he can operate at a higher level.

Queensberry promoter Frank Warren also expressed his support in a social media post, saying: "Everyone at Queensberry is thinking of him and we're in constant contact with his team regarding his condition as we hope for positive news. The bout was on the undercard of Pierce O'Leary's defeat to Mark Chamberlain, which the home fighter lost via knockout in the 10th round."
