An investigation has been launched against journalist Ertuğrul Özkök on charges of insulting the president, stemming from remarks he made during a television program. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced the probe in a written statement on Sunday, saying it was initiated ex officio. "An investigation has been initiated ex officio against Ertuğrul Özkök on charges of insulting the president due to his statements during a program he attended, the statement read."
