Moroccans Who Took Part in the Recent Assault on Ceuta Are Now Reaching the Beaches of the Campo

A significant number of Moroccans who took part in the recent assault on Ceuta are now reaching the beaches of the Campo de Gibraltar, police sources have confirmed. While this is not a mass influx, around twenty individuals have already been located in the area. Local police in Algeciras intercepted five people along the coastline at La Ballenera, near Getares, and also at Punta Carnero.

Another small group managed to reach shore at Levante beach in La Línea de la Concepción, and authorities do not rule out further arrivals in the coming hours and days. Sources told EL MUNDO that this kind of movement "usually happens, but now with the Ceuta situation everything seems more complicated. The priority is to return these individuals to Morocco as soon as possible; otherwise, they will be held at the new CIE detention center in Botafuegos, which opened in Algeciras a few months ago.

Jacinto Muñoz, the city's delegate for Citizen Security, noted that the arrival of boats carrying migrants to the region's coasts is "relatively common. He also dismissed unofficial reports or social media rumors, stating that "no orders have been given to residents of coastal areas due to the presence of these people. The operation followed standard protocol, and the individuals are now in the hands of the National Police's Foreigners Brigade.

Muñoz added that while these incidents may be linked to the events in Ceuta, "it is the Spanish government's responsibility to exercise its powers regarding border control and coastal surveillance. He called on Pedro Sánchez's administration "to adopt the necessary measures to guarantee the security and integrity of the borders by providing more material and human resources to the State Security Forces and Corps."
